Middle East Mission Accomplished! "The visit is successful," said John Lee, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, at the end of a high-level delegation visit to Qatar and Kuwait. On the final of the trip (May 14), Mr Lee met representatives of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority and exchanged views with local government and business leaders. He also witnessed the signing of some of the 24 MOUs and agreements exchanged between government departments, enterprises, and organisations from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Kuwait. The visit resulted in a total of 59 MOUs and agreements, including those in both Qatar and Kuwait. Mr Lee also announced that the United Arab Emirates will grant Hong Kong 30-day visa-free access starting today (May 15), while Oman will on the same date extend its visa-free period from 10 days to 14 days.
